With the transfer market fast approaching, the two valuable midfielders are at the centre of a rising tide of speculation.

While many believe that at least one of them will be sold by the Giallorossi in order to balance their books, sources from within the club are repeatedly denying that.

Sporting director Walter Sabatini claims they will both stay, as does general director Mauro Baldissoni. Now President Pallotta added his own voice to the chorus, saying the same thing after yesterday's game.

“I already said that we're not going to sell Pjanic and Nainggolan,” he stated, as reported by the Gazzetta dello Sport. “Roma-Chievo was a good victory, and an excellent game from a defensive point of view.

“[Antonio] Rudiger was absolutely the best man on the pitch. Above all else, though, it's delightful to see so many people at the stadium again.”
