Roberto Mancini wants to keep five core players and sign Yaya Toure, but the latter costs too much for Inter.

The Nerazzurri's excellent start to the campaign last year proved deceptive, and they failed to reconquer the summits of Serie A, thus limiting their movement on the transfer market this summer.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Coach Mancini has laid down his conditions for remaining with the club. In particular, he is categorical that the five core players of the Biscione squad cannot be sold.

These five players are believed to be Miranda, Geoffrey Kondogbia, Marcelo Brozovic, Ivan Perisic and Mauro Icardi.

Il Mancio is also especially keen on signing Manchester City's Toure, whom he requested as early as last year. However, the 32-year-old's wages are a major hurdle for the club.

While Inter have offered a slashed-down salary in the past, the lack of Champions League football makes even these conditions difficult to meet, and it may be the club will give up on the Ivorian in the end.

However, the Milanese club may be able to finance the move by selling some of its players. On the list of possible departures there are Samir Handanovic, worth €8-10m, Stevan Jovetic at €18m, Jeison Murillo at €15m, as well as Juan Jesus, Eder, Davide Santon, and possibly Gary Medel.
