Two defeats in three have seen Roma tumble out of title contention in Serie A, but Pallotta disagreed with Eusebio Di Francesco's claim that the Giallorossi were not ready to compete for the Scudetto.

“The market? I'll be honest: when I watched Roma against Genoa or Juventus, I've never had the feeling of having to change or buy a couple more players,” the President told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“We've had a couple of slips, but the team have already shown their ability, also in the Champions League.

“I know we have the team to compete with Napoli and Juventus at the top, and not being there is a bit frustrating.

“Still, I have great faith in Di Francesco and Monchi. We can only improve with them.

“We've had some unlucky matches. We had a couple of chances to equalise and we didn't succeed.

“It's normal that there's a bit of frustration when you play well and don't pick up a good result.”
