Roma President James Pallotta is “very excited and amused” with the Champions League draw, but warned Mattia Destro “is not for sale.”

The Giallorossi are in Group E with Bayern Munich, Manchester City and CSKA Moscow and is already being called the Group of Death.

“I am very excited and amused,” Pallotta told Sport Mediaset. “It is a very tough group, but it will be for our opponents too.

“We were in the fourth pot, but that doesn’t mean we won’t progress. In any case, if you want to go forward then you have to face strong teams.

“We have the opportunity to get through this round, as do all the others, so all we can do now is play.

“If you don’t think you can win the Champions League, then why take part at all?”

Pallotta was asked about growing reports that Chelsea are interested in signing Destro for €25m, having previously been linked with Milan and Tottenham.

“Destro is absolutely not for sale and never has been. We receive offers continually, because he’s a great player, but we have no intention of selling him. He’ll stay 100 per cent and we close an excellent transfer market.”
