Roberto Donadoni claims Rodrigo Palacio “would’ve been great in my Milan team” but admits Mattia Destro could miss Bologna’s clash with Inter.

Palacio scored his first goal for Bologna over the weekend in their 2-1 defeat to Fiorentina, and Donadoni is expecting bigger things from the Argentine, possibly starting against former club Inter on Wednesday as Destro is struggling with a knock.

“For tomorrow, I have to re-evaluate De Maio and Destro, who are carrying knocks,” the Coach said at a Press conference.

“For tomorrow, I have to re-evaluate De Maio and Destro, who are carrying knocks,” the Coach said at a Press conference.

“There won’t be Maietta or Krejci, who will have to undergo surgery. We had a decent game against Fiorentina, but we have to be more determined.

“Inter? Crotone had a good game, but Inter still scored two goals. The gap is because all the mid-table teams lost to the big boys over the weekend.

“You must try to collect as many points as possible and take every chance you get.  Against the big sides, you can’t give anything away.

“Destro? Competition isn’t just taking someone else’s place but allowing everyone to improve.

“Competition is an incentive for every position. Mattia has an additional competitor now, and he’ll be stimulated to do better.

“Good players are always indispensable for the team. Palacio would’ve been great in my Milan team.

“Here, there are also players of that level in terms of quality, but they don’t know it.”
