Tonight Sky Italia is reporting that the Eagles have indeed sent emissaries to Milan to discuss Eder, but a deal is not proving straightforward.

Palace are offering a loan with option to buy, but the Nerazzurri want an outright sale or at least an obligation to make the move permanent.

For his part, Eder would prefer to move to Russia to join Roberto Mancini at Zenit St Petersburg.

Given those factors, the Beneamata’s pursuit of Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is on standby.
