President Silvio Berlusconi has signed a preliminary agreement to sell the club to Sino-Europe Sports, with the deal expected to be completed by the end of the year.
“It’s not a bad time,” Berlusconi told Tele Lombardia.
“When my brother decided to sell Milan, he did so with a heart full of sadness, but with the awareness it was the right choice.

“It’s not a bad time,” Berlusconi told Tele Lombardia.
“When my brother decided to sell Milan, he did so with a heart full of sadness, but with the awareness it was the right choice.
“He set up the deal by asking for big investment in the club, Silvio’s last gift to the Milan fans. We’re in a period of transition, so it wasn’t possible to do the transfer campaign which Milan set out to do.
“We need patience, the European leagues have been invaded by Russian and Arab money.
“In Italy, Juventus are the boss, it’s very difficult and all the other teams can be like a supporting cast. Without the Champions League you’re missing out on a €40m-€50m lifeline.
“We invested last year, but football comes down to situations, referees, bad luck, illness and injury.
“The new owners? There’s always been kind of a smokescreen, but in this case the funds referred to are from the government.
“There isn’t a tycoon, but an organisation supported by the Chinese government.”
