Roma have suffered an injury scare this afternoon after Pablo Daniel Osvaldo was stretchered off during training with a suspected thigh strain.

Whilst running during the squad’s training session, Osvaldo collapsed to the ground in pain, holding his right thigh. The Argentine-born Italian international was ultimately forced to leave the field on a motorised stretcher as he could not walk.

The striker is set to undergo a series of tests on a suspected second degree thigh strain with it now almost certain that he will miss the Giallorossi’s return to action this weekend at home to Chievo. Speculation is that the injury, if confirmed as a being a strain to the flexor muscle at the top of the player’s thigh, could rule him out of action for up to two months.

Osvaldo is Roma’s top scorer this season with seven goals to his name and the injury comes less than 24 hours after Marco Borriello sealed his loan switch to rivals Juventus.
