Daniel Osvaldo said it is “an honour” to join Inter on loan from Southampton in exchange for Saphir Taider.

Both clubs have an option to make the move permanent at the end of the season, though it’s rumoured Osvaldo’s clause is worth €7m compared to Taider’s9m.

At €7m (£5.5m), that would be much less than half the sum the Saints paid for the centre-forward just a year ago (£13m).

“I am very happy and I can’t wait to get started,” the former Roma, Fiorentina and Juventus striker told Inter Channel.

“I immediately noticed the affection of the fans and I am very happy. Arriving at Inter is an honour and I hope to do well with these club colours.

“Do I like rock’n’roll? Yes. My favourite band is the Rolling Stones, as I love the classics.

“I tell the fans we’ll do everything we can to give you joy. Or should I say Satisfaction…”

Osvaldo’s love for the Rolling Stones is no secret, as even his Twitter handle is @DaniStone25 and he has a statue of Mick Jagger in his house.
