Tammy Abraham is only second to Robert Lewandowski for goals scored in 2022 in Europe’s top five leagues.

The English striker scored a brace in Roma‘s 3-0 win over their city rivals Lazio in the derby della Capitale on Sunday and has now 23 goals in 40 appearances with the Giallorossi.

He is the most prolific striker in Serie A in the new year and will become the most prolific debutant in the Giallorossi’s history if he scores two more goals by the end of the season.

The former Chelsea striker has netted nine goals in 11 appearances in 2022, one goal every 105 minutes. Getafe’s Enes Unal has managed the same amount of goals since the start of January and only Robert Lewandowski has more in Europe’s top five leagues: 12 in 10 appearances, one goal every 75 minutes.

Abraham has already equalled his personal record for league goals in one season (15, same as in 2019-20 with Chelsea) and became the first Roma player to score a brace in a derby since Francesco Totti in 2015. Abraham joined Roma from Chelsea in a €40m deal last summer and his contract at the Stadio Olimpico runs out in 2026.
