Juventus have almost all their players back in Turin after going overseas, staying in quarantine, but Gonzalo Higuain and Adrien Rabiot are still abroad.

Training began this week at the Continassa ground, as players had tests for COVID-19 and could then run on the pitches, albeit keeping to social distancing guidelines.

However, those who had been abroad during the lockdown and only recently returned cannot take part, as they must first self-isolate at home for 14 days.

Cristiano Ronaldo flew in from Portugal on Monday, while Blaise Matuidi, Sami Khedira, Matthijs de Ligt and Wojciech Szczesny all came back over the last few days.

This evening, Danilo, Douglas Costa and Alex Sandro’s plane landed in Turin after they spent several weeks in Brazil.

It means there are now only two Juve players who haven’t yet returned to base – Rabiot and Higuain.

Pipita’s situation is more concerning, amid reports he is not prepared to return at all and is pushing for a transfer, or even an early termination of his contract.

Higuain’s father Jorge told TNT that the striker “intends to respect his contract” with Juventus. “This is not the time to think about River Plate, as European football is on another level and my son cannot think of coming back to Argentina for the moment.”
