Former Juventus and Napoli forward Fabio Quagliarella is not ready to hang up his boots just yet and he’s signed a one-year contract renewal with Sampdoria.

The Blucerchiati deposited the 39-year-old Italian forward’s contract to Lega Serie A already, confirming that he’ll be part of the squad for the upcoming 2022-23 season. This will be the veteran’s 20th season of Serie A football and he’s currently 11th in the all-time appearance holder rankings, four behind 10th place Silvio Piola.

Quagliarella is known to score incredible goals, having some of the most entertaining highlights compilations around. Since joining Sampdoria in 2016, he’s scored 105 goals and 26 assists across 268 appearances.

The Italian veteran is 14th in the Serie A all-time top scorers list, having netted 181 goals in 533 league appearances. He’s netted more goals than a number of legendary figures like Giampiero Boniperti, Amedeo Amadei and Luigi Riva. He is also only three goals behind Gabriel Batistuta.
