Nicolo Zaniolo has turned down an approach from Paris Saint-Germain as Juventus prepare to send in an official offer to Roma.

The 23-year-old Italian forward is not considered unsellable by the Giallorossi any longer and they’re now weighing up the economic benefits of a possible sale this summer, especially considering that his contract expires in 2024. They’re ready to respond to official offers and things are set to heat up now.

As reported by La Stampa, Zaniolo’s entourage have made it clear that staying in Italy is the priority and they politely turned down PSG following a recent approach. Juventus are expected to hand their official offer to Roma later this week as they look to close out a deal for the 23-year-old.

The Turin side are gearing up to sell defender Matthijs de Ligt and those funds would be used to immediately reinvest into a talent like Zaniolo.

La Gazzetta dello Sport details how the Roma talent has already reached a verbal agreement with the Bianconeri but he’ll have to wait for them to sell some midfielders first.

  1. On paper a Pogba, Locatelli and Zaniolo midfield sounds very good. Only concern is health for all 3 across 3 competitions. I know Rabiot is gone, but I would keep Mckennie as a solid backup

  2. Jimmy_stallion
Mckenie , Fagioli , Miretti , Zakaria looks like a pretty solid subtition set for the midfield
Although I think Fagioli will eventually makes his way to the first team both at Juve and at Italy

  3. Well done zaniola – turned his back on money, if he did join he would have turned into draxler for them.

Abover 2 powter believe zaniola will be playing in a 3 man midfield – that wont be the case – juve will switching to either a 4231 on the right side of the 3, or in a 433 – again on the right side of the forward 3 line.

He cant play in a 3 man midfield with pogba – both dont track back at all.

  4. Mohammed is slightly wrong since it will be 4-2-3-1 with Chiesa on the left and Di Maria on the right and Zaniolo BEHIND Vlahovic.
It will be a devastating offensive with both technique, power and pace.

  5. @ Many wise guys You are right about technique and power, but the only pace will be coming from Vlahovic because Di Maria is much older now and Chiesa is coming off a very bad injury. They say that players loose 10 to 20 % of pace after an injury like that. I hope that those statistics dont apply to Chiesa and that you are right, but we will have to wait and see. I like Zaniolo, I just hope that those injuries are behind him. If he suffers one more bad injury then it could be both devasting for his career and Juventus. I am most of worried about Chiesa because his game is focused around his pace so without it he will be a different player.

  6. @Many wise guys. Correct on formation. Maybe even a 4-1-4-1 with both Pogba and Zaniolo playing behind Vlahovic. Nevetheless, on paper it is a scary lineup from Juve. Interestingly, depending on how they replace De Ligt, it is the defence that might end up being this season’s Achilles’ Heel.

  7. lol no point talking about formations when you have PhD Max and his back to the future back, back, down, down. Zaniolo will be ruined and Juve can perfect the art of the injury. Just go ask the J Medical and Flimsey for further consultation.

  8. You people forget that the coach is Max..he will park the bus only..Zaniolo’s talent would be wasted on defensive duties

  9. @Gyan
I don’t think even Max can afford to defend with Pogba , Di maria , Chiesa , Zaniolo , Velahovic
They turn everything to goal naturally if played together
No coach can force them to defend , lmao unless you tie their feet

  10. Can’t believe people actually believe Nicolo would turn down PSG for Juve!
A chance for bigger salary, much better city, selfies with Messi, being welcomed by Verratti & Gigio, a real shot at winning CL, etc…
Trust me, had PSG called, Zaniolo would already sit on their bench arranging himself dates with French models.
Some Juventini equalled Roma to being on a level of Benfica… Compared to today’s PSG, Juve is on a level of Porto!

  12. As a Roma fan, I am not sure if I am disappointed or pleased to see him go. Before the two ACL injuries he was a beast. Last season (for all my sins) I watched nearly all the Roma matches and Zaniolo was often very selfish, he also lost a lot of balls just running into opposition players and also (sometimes unfairly) got booked a lot. Yes, there were occasional moments of brilliance but it was fairly limited. He could of course turn into the best player in Italy but I am not so sure. 60m for a player with 4 goals last season, a slightly dodgy attitude and two ACL injuries in one year could be good business for Roma.
