Milan have officially announced that coach Stefano Pioli has signed a two-year contract extension with the club.

The 57-year-old Italian coach joined the Rossoneri in October 2019 after the dismissal of Marco Giampaolo, overseeing a huge upswing in results on the pitch. Pioli guided Milan to their first Scudetto in a decade last season and the team are now hot on the heels of league leaders Napoli, keen to defend their title.

As announced by Milan, Pioli has put pen to paper on a new two-year contract extension, tying him to the club until June 2025. His previous deal expired at the end of this season.

The Italian coach has previously expressed his desire to stay with the Rossoneri for the long-term and this announcement confirms that the club are on the same page, happy with his work on and off the pitch.

Pioli has overseen 153 Milan matches since his arrival in October 2019, averaging 1.97 points per match.
