Medical tests today confirmed that Weston McKennie has suffered a muscle injury, sidelining the Juventus midfielder.

The 24-year-old American has featured consistently under Massimiliano Allegri this season, playing 719 minutes of action across 11 Serie A appearances. McKennie started in the 1-0 win over Lecce on the weekend but was taken off at half time in place of Nicolo Fagioli, who went on to score the winner.

As announced by Juventus, McKennie underwent an X-ray at Juventus’ medical centre today which confirmed that he’s suffered a muscular overload in the rectus femoris of his right thigh, a quad injury.

The Bianconeri will monitor the American midfielder’s condition on a daily basis and he’s now in doubt for the upcoming games against Paris Saint-Germain on November 2 and Inter on November 6.

The 24-year-old McKennie has scored three goals and provided one assist in 16 appearances across all competitions for Juventus this season.
