Napoli announce Kevin Malcuit has tested positive for COVID.
Both the French defender and Andrea Petagna were put into quarantine after coming into contact with a person positive for COVID.
However, the striker did not contract the virus, while Malcuit’s swab test came back positive.
“Following standard testing to come out of self-isolation, Petagna has tested negative for Covid-19. Malcuit, who hasn’t been in contact with the squad, tested positive. He is asymptomatic and will continue to self-isolate at home,” Napoli’s statement read.
The Partenopei have also specified that both players are vaccinated.
Napoli have Hirving Lozano, Eljif Elmas and Victor Osimhen out of action with COVID. On Thursday, they will face Juventus at the Allianz Stadium.
