Royal Antwerp FC have officially announced Radja Nainggolan’s return to Belgium after 16 years in Italy.

The former Roma, Inter and Cagliari midfielder has returned to his homeland and will play for the first time as a professional in Belgium.

Nainggolan left Antwerp in 2005 after playing in the youth sector of Germinal Beerschot but has now signed a two-year deal with Royal Antwerp.

The 33-year-old, capped 30 times by Belgium, leaves Italy after 367 Serie A appearances, contributing 48 goals and 35 assists in the process.

  1. A career that in all honesty deserved so much more. Never really given the opportunities he warranted with Belgium, and definitely left Roma too late. Strange though how Cagliari did everything to bring him back given his family issues and yet really, the first chance he gets elsewhere, he is off.
