Napoli full-back Alessandro Zanoli said Luciano Spalletti ‘has faith in me’ and wants to show the new coach ‘that I can stay in Serie A’.

The 20-year-old right-back returned from a loan stint at Legnano and ahead of the friendly match against Pescara on Saturday, he claimed he was giving his best to convince the Partenopei of giving him a chance at the top level.

“I’m happy to be part of the Napoli project with the faith of the coach and of the club,” he told Canale 8. “I hope that Spalletti will give me the opportunity to show that I can stay at this level.

“I earned his trust through great desire to work and reach the levels I dreamed of as a child. The dream is to stay in this group, with these teammates who are giving me a great hand.

“The level of teammates and opponents has changed. I found a united group, hungry to win and to fight for the Scudetto.

“I learned from everyone, because they are all great champions to learn from. I don’t have a specific role model, but I look at the best in my position, like Carvajal. I can play on the left too, wherever the coach puts me, I’ll do my best.”
