Rolando Maran has officially been sacked from his position at Cagliari who have also parted ways with his two assistants Christian Maraner and Gianluca Maran.

It's over for Maran after a run of 12 games without a win, including the elimination from the Coppa Italia, as the Rossoblu have failed to follow up their incredible start to the season beyond the winter break.

“Cagliari Calcio announce that they have dismissed Rolando Maran from his position as first team coach,” the club wrote. “At the same time the collaboration with assistant Christian Maraner and the match analyst Gianluca Maran has been interrupted.

“The most sincere thanks go to them for the competence, seriousness and professionalism shown since their first day in Sardinia.”

Sky Sport Italia has claimed that Walter Zenga will be appointed as his successor, working with the youth coach Max Canzi at the Sardegna Arena.
