Exams undergone by Lazio star Ciro Immobile highlighted a bicep injury, but his recovery time is still unclear.

The Italy international was forced off the pitch during Lazio’s 0-0 draw against Udinese on Sunday. He underwent a medical check this morning.

“Exams highlighted a mid-degree injury to the left femoral biceps,” Lazio said in an official statement.

“The player has already started the specific treatment and will undergo daily clinical monitoring. Further instrumental tests will be repeated in the coming days to assess his recovery time.”

Immobile is the current Serie A top scorer with six goals in 10 games. Dusan Vlahovic (Juventus) and Marko Arnautovic (Bologna) have also bagged six goals so far but playing nine matches.

Immobile has scored 189 goals in 273 appearances with the Bianconcelesti since his transfer from Sevilla in 2016.

Even if Lazio insist that Immobile’s recovery time is still unclear, reports in Italy suggest that the 32-year-old won’t be available again in 2022.
