Rumours have been vociferous in recent weeks that the Brazil international would leave San Siro and sign for MLS outfit Orlando City.

And that looks to be a step closer this afternoon, with the Rossoneri announcing that the playmaker has decided, with the club’s backing, to terminate his deal.

“Milan announces that it has terminated Kaka’s contract by mutual consent,” a brief statement read.

It means that the former Ballon d’Or winner is virtually set for America, where he is likely to agree a deal within hours.

Gazzetta dello Sport revealed this afternoon that Kaka was on his way to Florida to sign a deal, before joining boyhood club Sao Paulo on a three-month loan.
