Juventus have officially signed Uruguayan defender Facundo Gonzalez from Valencia, but he is expected to go out on loan in Serie A.

The 20-year-old had his medical tests over the last few days and put pen to paper on a contract to June 2026.

Sky Sport Italia report the cost of the operation was minimal, circa €350,000 plus €2m in bonuses, though Valencia will retain a percentage of the sell-on fee set at 15-20 per cent.

Gonzalez is not expected to spend this season in Turin, as Juventus should loan him out to Salernitana, with Genoa also interested.

The centre-back was one of the key players in the Under-20 World Cup victory for Uruguay this summer, beating Italy in the Final.
