Juventus defender Facundo Gonzalez has officially joined Andrea Pirlo’s Sampdoria on loan until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old had moved to Turin on a permanent transfer from Valencia only a few weeks ago and has now joined Sampdoria in Serie B until the end of the season.

Juventus confirmed Gonzalez’s temporary transfer to Marassi on Wednesday through their official website and social media accounts.

The Bianconeri wished ‘good luck’ to Facundo Gonzalez who is expected to return to Turin at the end of the season as Samp do not have an option to make his move permanent.

The Uruguayan centre-back will work under ex-Juventus coach and legend Andrea Pirlo who was appointed as the Blucerchiati’s new boss earlier this summer.

Facundo Gonzalez became a U20 World Cup champion with Uruguay in June, beating Italy in the Final.

Sampdoria started the new Serie B campaign with a 2-1 win over Ternana this past Sunday and will face Alberto Aquilani’s Pisa at Marassi on Friday in the first competitive home match of 2023-24.
