More details are emerging on Fiorentina’s very late transfer deals, as Abdelhamid Sabiri is loaned to Al Faiha with an option to buy for circa €3m, while Aleksandr Kokorin joins Aris Limassol.

The transfer window might be closed in Italy, but the clubs can still do business selling or loaning players to clubs whose market works on a different schedule.

The Viola are making full use of it by finding new destinations for two players who were excluded from their Conference League squad lists.

It was announced this morning that Sabiri was sold to Saudi Pro League side Al Faiha, but the latest reports from Sky Sport Italia suggest that is not entirely accurate.

This is a paid loan for €100,000 and the club retains an option to make it permanent at the end of the season for €3m.

The 26-year-old Morocco international participated in the 2022 World Cup and was bought from Sampdoria for €2.5m in January 2023, but left on loan at Marassi.

He never played for Fiorentina.

Meanwhile, Fiorentina have officially loaned Russian striker Kokorin to Aris Limassol.

It is practically an exit, because his contract with the Tuscan team only runs to June 2024 anyway.

According to Transfermarkt, Aris Limassol are paying €250,000 for the one-season loan.

Kokorin was purchased from Spartak Moscow in January 2021 for €4.5m, but never made an impact, making just 12 competitive appearances for 219 minutes of football.
