As expected, the Champions League and Europa League will both adopt a Final Eight format for the rest of this season.
It was decided by the UEFA Executive Committee this afternoon that ties from the quarter-final stage onwards in the Champions League would be held across two venues in Lisbon.
The mini-tournament, consisting of seven knockout fixtures, will commence on August 11 and end 12 days later on August 23.

Before then, the four remaining Champions League Last-16 second legs – among them Juventus-Olympique Lyonnais and Barcelona-Napoli – will be played on August 7-8 at venues yet to be determined.
The Europa League, meanwhile, will be completed in the four German cities of Cologne, Duisburg, Dusseldorf and Gelsenkirchen.
Its Final Eight will take place between August 10 and 21, with the Last-16 ties still outstanding scheduled for August 5-6 at the designated home venue or in Germany.
In the case of Inter-Getafe and Sevilla-Roma, which never kicked off, those ties will be negotiated over a single leg.
All ties will be played at 20:00 BST (21:00 CET), barring some of those remaining in the Europa League Round of 16, which could kick off at 17:55 BST (18:55 CET).
Teams in both competitions can add three new players to their squads, although summer signings are not permitted, and are allowed to make five substitutions during matches across three intervals.
The European Super Cup will now be played in Budapest on September 24 and host cites for that competition, as well as the Champions League and Europa League Finals, in 2020, 2021, 2022 and 203 will be pushed back a year.
Finally, the 2020-21 Champions League qualifiers start on August 8 and will be single-legged ties, prior to two-legged playoffs on August 22-23 and September 29-30 and the group stage between October 20 and December 9.
The Europa League qualifiers begin on August 20, ahead of the playoffs on October 1 and the group stage between October 22 and December 10.
Fans will not be allowed to attend games at this stage, but UEFA has vowed to ‘regularly assess the situation across the continent’.
