Giorgio Chiellini will miss Italy’s friendlies against Argentina and England after being sent home from their training retreat.
Italy’s announcement comes after Chiellini had been reported as a doubt for the two matches, as well as Juventus’ Champions League quarter-final first leg against Real Madrid.
The defender pulled up with an injury to his right thigh towards the end of the Bianconeri’s goalless draw with SPAL on Saturday.
