Brescia President Gino Corioni has sacked Beppe Iachini and hired Mario Beretta in his place.

Iachini's job has been on the line for weeks, although Corioni has previously expressed his desire to stick with the baseball cap-wearing tactician until the end of the season.

However, it appears that Saturday's 3-0 defeat to Milan, the club's eighth loss in 11 games, proved the final straw.

Beretta was seen at Corioni's house in Ospitaletto this afternoon accompanied by his agent Federico Pastorello.

The 51-year-old has a track record of staving off relegation, even if his most recent jobs at Lecce and Torino ended in failure.

Beretta has been out of work since July when Greek side PAOK dismissed him on the back of poor pre-season results.
