Massimo Oddo maintains that he still has a part to play in the future of Milan. "I hope to stay."

The veteran defender has only made seven Serie A appearances this term, a figure which has raised doubts over his future.

However, the 2006 World Cup winner is confident that he is still worthy of the Rossoneri jersey.

"I'm happy at Milan," he noted. "Physically speaking, I think that I can continue to give quite a lot at high levels.

"I still have a year left on my contract and I hope to stay, but I also hope to play in a few more games."

Oddo has struggled for fitness at times, but he's also failed to get the better of first-choice right-back Ignazio Abate.

"If it comes to my attention that the club no longer think that I am of any use to them and that they want to sell then I will consider a transfer," he added.
