According to Sky Sport Italia, Mexico captain Guillermo Ochoa will undergo his medical with Salernitana on Thursday ahead of a free transfer to the Stadio Arechi.

The 38-year-old is available on a free transfer given that his contract with Club America expires on December 31.

Salernitana need a new goalkeeper as their regular starter between the sticks Luigi Sepe has suffered an injury that will force him to the sidelines throughout January.

Ochoa is expected to undergo his medical on Thursday when he will sign a contract until the end of the season.

This will be the first time in Serie A for the experienced goalkeeper who played 121 games in Ligue 1 and 49 in La Liga.

He was the captain of Mexico in Qatar where he shared the dressing room with Cremonese defender Johan Vásquez and Napoli winger Hirving Lozano.

Salernitana resume the season on January 4 in a home game against defending Serie A champions Milan.
