The Zenit St Petersburg midfielder has been consistently linked with the Rossoneri this summer, but they are now believed to be focusing on Soriano.

“The situation? We’re on stand-by,” Riccardo Napolitano told Tuttomercatoweb.
“We’ll see what happens. If Witsel comes then Soriano won’t, and vice-versa. A player like Axel needs no introduction.
“In the negotiations the conditions are in Milan’s favour.”
Napolitano has previously revealed that Witsel has accepted a move to San Siro, but the Diavolo are yet to agree a deal with Zenit.
The Russian club are thought to be asking for over €30m, while Milan are only willing to offer €20m.
