According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Zlatan Ibrahimovic may not be back in time for Milan‘s Champions League match against Tottenham in February as he still feels pain in his knee.

The 41-year-old is training in Milanello and won’t travel with the team to Riyad where the Rossoneri will face Inter in the Supercoppa on Wednesday. Stefano Pioli’s men will depart after today’s match against Lecce, but Ibra won’t be with them, although he could join his teammates later next week.

The Swede is still recovering after undergoing knee surgery in May. He was expected to be back for February’s Champions League match against Tottenham at San Siro, but the latest updates from Milanello are pretty worrying.

According to the latest report of Gazzetta, Ibra still feels pain in his knee, so his return to action will likely be further delayed.

The ex-Inter and Juventus striker started his last Serie A game a year ago, on January 17, 2022 and his contract with the Diavoli expires in June. As things stand, it’s hard to imagine the Rossoneri extending with the 41-year-old for one more season in June.

  1. Time to hang up the boots, pal. Maldini can’t still be considering him as a contributing striker…
