Roma start preparing for the new season on July 6, but will not be able to sell any season tickets due to the COVID-19 crisis, even if the fans are set to return to the Olimpico this summer.

Il Tempo reports Roma have set the date for the start of the new season, Jose Mourinho’s first campaign in Giallorosso.

The players and staff will meet at Trigoria on July 6, in exactly one month, according to the newspaper.

But even if the players will meet at Fulvio Bernardini to start preparing for the upcoming campaign, the report doesn’t exclude possible mini-tours and several friendlies across Europe too.

However, the club will not be able to release any season tickets for the stadium, due to the coronavirus pandemic, and Roma will thus lose about €15m in revenues, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

By June, Serie A should decide on the possible reopening of stadiums, as Italy will play with almost 16,000 people at the Olimpico during Euro 2020.

It’s possible that the number of spectators will increase during next season and the reports won’t exclude the launch of ‘mini-season tickets’ during the course of the campaign.
