Inter striker Lautaro Martinez scored in Argentina’s 3-0 win over Uruguay in the World Cup Qualifiers and has seemingly overcome the physical problems.

The Nerazzurri feared Martinez would return injured, as he suffered a muscle problem during international duty last week.

He was back when Argentina ran riot with Uruguay in the South American World Cup Qualifiers, when Lionel Messi, Lautaro and Rodrigo de Paul scored the goals.

The Beneamata star played 65 minutes and was replaced by club teammate Joaquin Correa.

The 24-year-old, capped 31 times by the Albiceleste, showed no signs of struggling with the muscle problem he suffered last week.

Lautaro should thus be ready for the resumption of Serie A, when Inter travel to play Simone Inzaghi’s former side Lazio on October 16.

The former Racing Club forward has been in brilliant form so far in Serie A 2021-22, scoring five times in six League games this term.
