Milan and Manchester City have made no bid to sign Ezequiel Lavezzi, the Napoli player’s agent has underlined.

The two giants of European football have both been paired with the Argentine attacker over the last 12 months.

City were said to be monitoring him over the summer, while the Rossoneri are being associated with a January switch after losing Antonio Cassano for six months.

“There is no truth in the Milan rumours,” representative Alejandro Mazzoni told Radio CRC on Tuesday afternoon.

“I did come across Milan director Ariedo Braida recently, but we spoke about other Argentine players. Lavezzi was never discussed.

“As for City, they have never contacted me for Ezequiel. Il Pocho is at Napoli and he wants to stay with the club.

“I don’t think it is right to talk about a possible transfer right now. He just needs to focus on the season ahead with Napoli in Serie A and the Champions League.”

Lavezzi could actually be signed by any club who offers €31m – the fee set in his current agreement, but a clause that reportedly may soon be eradicated.

“That’s a matter for President Aurelio De Laurentiis, it’s nothing to do with me,” concluded Mazzoni.

The Argentine international, 26, joined the Stadio San Paolo outfit in the summer of 2007 from San Lorenzo for around €6m.
