Giampaolo Pazzini’s wife has criticised Filippo Inzaghi and the Milan coaching team for the striker’s lack of opportunity this season.

Silvia Slitti took to Instagram to post a veiled attack on the Rossoneri Coach for her husband’s lack of playing time, before deleting the post in question.

“Ok, so maths was never my strong point.” Silvia wrote on the site.

“Let’s say a person is given nine chances to impress someone, or to get a job, or to show what they can do.

“Then, every time, after an average time of between three and eight minutes someone says ‘enough!’

“I wonder – who can tell if that person is good enough or not? Maybe if they had 30 minutes, 45 minutes or better yet 90 minutes you’d change your mind?

“What if that person wasn’t someone who screams or makes a scene, but continued to conduct themselves in a serious, diligent and consistent way doing the things they are paid for, have always desired and have worked for.

“Wouldn't it be a shame not to see if – with a little confidence and perseverance – maybe that person could do great things?

“I feel sad that in Italy the famous ‘meritocracy’ doesn’t always exist in reality.”

Reports this week have centred on Fernando Torres’ return to the starting line-up against Cagliari being instigated at President Silvio Berlusconi’s request.
