“I have to concentrate on where we can improve, not on the difficulties that could influence the result,” said the new Coach in his Press conference.

“Over the last two weeks, I’ve tried to get to know the players and start to pass on my philosophy of football. It won’t be perfect, but an error mustn’t be seen as a tragedy. If there’s a mistake, we keep going, we keep playing, we keep fighting.

“I want to see an organised and aggressive team, one that shows the two or three different concepts we’ve been working on so far in training.”

Udinese hope to take advantage of Roma’s injury problems and the close proximity to a Champions League showdown with Real Madrid.

“Roma were built to play in three tournaments, so I don’t think they’ll struggle with the schedule. I have to focus on my own team, which must play without thinking about the prestige of the opposition, but rather on how it plays.

“The rest are just details and we’ve got time for those.”

Antonin Barak is out injured, joining long-term absentees Lukasz Teodorczyk, Svante Ingelsson and Emmanuel Badu.

Udinese squad for Roma: Nicolas, Musso, Scuffet; Troost-Ekong, Nuytinck, Opoku, Pezzella, Samir, Stryger-Larsen, Ter Avest; Behrami, D'Alessandro, De Paul, Fofana, Mandragora, Pontisso, Coulibaly; Lasagna, Machis, Micin, Pussetto, Vizeu
