Claudio Ranieri has reportedly agreed a return to the English top flight, taking over Watford at Vicarage Road. Check out the Italian’s stats in the Premier League.
The 69-year-old left England after 17 games in 2018-19, taking over at Roma in March 2019. The Italian coach moved back to Italy with Fulham at 19th in the Premier League, but has vast experience in both ends of the English championship.
Ranieri first arrived in England when Chelsea approached the former Atletico Madrid coach, signing a deal with the Blues starting in September 2000.
After two seasons finishing sixth in the League, Ranieri helped Chelsea to fourth and second in 2002-03 and 2003-04 respectively.
Ranieri later returned to England 11 years later, when he took over at Leicester City in 2015-16, winning the League in his first season with the Foxes.
He left Leicester after 25 League games in 2016-17, with the club at 17th in the second year at the King Power Stadium.
He was back in 2018-19, in charge of 16 League games with Fulham, but struggled to bring the Cottagers out of the relegation zone.
Ranieri takes over Watford at 15th in the table, with seven points from seven games so far in 2021-22.
