Paulo Dybala expressed his excitement at his free transfer to Roma, discussing the project and coach Jose Mourinho.

The 28-year-old Argentinian forward officially joined the Giallorossi today, signing a three-year contract with an option for a fourth worth around €6m net per season including add-ons. Dybala was linked with moves to Napoli and Inter but Roma managed to edge out their competition and finalise a deal.

Speaking to Roma’s media outlets, Dybala discussed his arrival at the club, his thoughts on Mourinho and the passionate support of the fans.

“The days that led me to sign this contract were full of many emotions. The speed and determination with which Roma showed how much they wanted me made the difference.

“I join a growing team, a club that continues to lay a solid foundation for the future and a coach, Jose Mourinho, it’ll be a privilege to work with him.

“As an opponent I have always admired the atmosphere created by the Roma fans, now I can’t wait to greet them wearing this shirt.”

The 28-year-old Dybala is coming off an interesting seven-year spell with Juventus, where he grew into a star before injuries saw his time in Turin end a little more anonymously than expected.

During his seven years with the Old Lady, Dybala made 293 appearances across all competitions, scoring 115 goals and providing 48 assists. He won 12 major honours in Turin, including five Scudetti.

  2. I think Roma will be one of the best teams to watch this year. Can’t wait for this season. #AllegriOut please don’t F this team up.

  3. “Yes, Mr Dybala –You should have joined Inter, the best & the most talent stacked team in Serie A, a club that is BY FAR the most hateful rival of Juventus, and earn a 10 million salary.
Where are your morals, Mr Dybala? Your sporting values??
How dare you go to a club that is not one of the three primadonnas?! We, the Trinity, do everything to hoard all the best players from the inferior non-SL Serie A teams, purchasing them at pathetically low prices to weaken the league.
You sir, betrayed our most cherished principles. Shame on you, Mr Dybala. I hope you realise you just gave up all of your Trinity privileges. Good luck diving for penalties now. Lols”

    Juventini,
Can I base a character on you for the story I’m writing?
I need a strong dimensional villain and absolutely love your world view & the quirky way you say “Mr Dybala”.

  4. @juventini small club for me is a club that has been degrated to serie-B for match fixing. That’s a definiton of small, disgusting club

  5. The Yanks just spread in the shower to get Jorge Antun’s soap. Inter is a big club not letting agents run the show. (Chinese banks though..) There’s no romance in this story Paulo, don’t fool yourself.

  6. So much hate from other teams!!! Nobody, but Roma fans knows how IT really is to support the team! I love this signing and think Roma actually got A chance to win the scudetto!! Forza RomaAmor:)
