Alessandro Nesta describes Milan as “a big chance” for Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic.

The Serbian has taken over from Filippo Inzaghi, but his Rossoneri have endured mixed fortunes in the opening weeks of the season.

“I knew he’d become a Coach,” Nesta told Milan Channel as he paid a visit to Milanello.

“He already thought as a Coach. Milan is a big chance for him. I’m rooting for Milan. A lot has changed this year, they need to find consistency.

“I think the foundations are there though, and soon Milan will return to high levels.

“This is my first time back [at Milanello] since I left, and it’s always getting better. It’s a great place.

“I spoke briefly to my former teammates, as well as the people who work here at Milanello. I also spoke to Mihajlovic, because I’ve just started my Coaching career, and it was interesting to see how he trains and prepares for matches.

“I have a lot of memories. From the first day when I didn’t want to be here [having been sold by Lazio], to the last day when I didn’t want to leave.

“I had a lot of good times with the Rossoneri.”
