Former Parma President Giampietro Manenti has been given a five-year ban by the FIGC.

Manenti took over the running of the club during last season, but despite several promises, never paid the players or any of the debt.

The patron was arrested in March on charges of embezzlement and money laundering, and while awaiting trial, has been banned from football for five years by the Italian federation.

Manenti has been banned for “attempting to receive sums of illicit origin” at the Banca Monte Dei Paschi in Siena.

The former President was also accused of committing information fraud, by employing a criminal gang specialising in that area as well as using cloned credit cards.
