Italy will face Romelu Lukaku’s Belgium for third place in the Nations League in Turin on Sunday afternoon, while Spain and France compete for the trophy at San Siro that evening.

The semi-finals were completed tonight with a thrilling match at the Allianz Juventus Stadium in Turin.

Belgium had taken a 2-0 lead by half-time through Yannick Carrasco and Lukaku, but rested on their laurels and allowed the comeback.

Nations League | Belgium 2-3 France: Theo Hernandez completes comeback

Karim Benzema turned to drill home, then Kylian Mbappé converted a penalty before the stoppage-time winner from Milan star Theo Hernandez.

That means France and Spain will go head-to-head for the Nations League Final at San Siro in Milan on Sunday at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT).

Italy lost their semi-final 2-1 to Spain when down to 10 men after Leonardo Bonucci’s red card last night, so the Azzurri challenge Belgium for third place.

That will kick off at the Allianz Juventus Stadium in Turin on Sunday at 14.00 UK time (13.00 GMT).

  1. really wanted to see ITALY v FRANCE even for third place. this is an alternate universe this is outcome of euros… luckily La Nazionale won it all in this reality.

  2. A pen and disallowed goal…gave France the game… really thought Lukkah won it for them with his second goal…

    This is why defence all wins games. Really shocking how inadequate Italy has become in CB’s and right and left backs. They keep buying foreign players fill those positions .

    First half was kinda boring with ad nausea small passing ball. Second was more exciting.

  3. Mancini would want to end on a high, taking confidence into the last round of WC Qualifiers .. and Belgium are going to be up for it .. so he’ll put out a strong squad. My preferred Starting 11 wud be ..
    Chiesa Kean Berardi;

    Pellegrini Jorghino Locatelli;

    Emerson/Di Marco Bastoni Chiellini Calabria;

    Donna/Meret

    Decent team, mine would be

    Donnarumma (needs game time and confidence of the crowd after the Milan debacle!)

    Calabria
    Bastoni
    Chiellini
    Dimarco

    Barella
    Jorginho
    Locatelli

    Chiesa
    Kean/Raspadori
    Pellegrini

  5. I think youngsters need playing time. We have nothing to lose and who cares if 3rd or 4th. The main objective is to have a good solid squad against Switzerland and Northern Ireland in order to try to reach the WC 2022. Clubs do your part and start using our home grown players. No more mediocre foreign players.

  6. People can be so ridiculous, this is a team fresh from winning the EURO, loss for the first time in 2 / 3 years, first loss in 38 Matches, playing Spain with a full squad is difficult in its own not to talk about one man down and these people are complaining already? You all need to go get a life

  7. @Roy I really quite like your team.

    I believe we have two of the best wingers in the world in Chiesa and Berardi, and we should play both of them, not just one of them. Having a left footed winger in Berardi play on the right, and cutting into the left, is an asset. Also, I think Insigne has been disappointing of late for the Azzurri, missing quite a few chances in the qualifiers. Also, Bernardeschi as a false 9 doesn’t work, so let’s give Pellegrini a shot at it.

    I quite like Locatelli and, although this may sound strange, I prefer him to Verratti. I find he distributes the ball more quickly, while Verratti like to dribble too much.

    Di Lorenzo, and Florenzi before him, are not worthy right backs – time to give Calabria a try.
    Here is my lineup for Belgium:

    Chiesa———-Pellegrini———–Berardi

    Locatelli——–Jorginho————Barrella

    Emerson—-Bastoni—-Acerbi—Calabria

    ———————Meret———————–
