Napoli are in contact with Fenerbahce for Min-jae Kim as first choice to replace Kalidou Koulibaly, with Francesco Acerbi of Lazio and Manchester United’s Eric Bailly as the alternatives.

Koulibaly did not arrive at the pre-season training camp last night and has instead flown to London, where he will have his Chelsea medical on Thursday.

That deal is worth €40m and now Napoli must find a replacement, along with Leo Ostigard, who has already been secured from Brighton and Hove Albion.

According to Sky Sport Italia and Sportitalia, their primary target is Min-jae Kim, the South Korea international who has also been heavily linked with Stade Rennais.

The 25-year-old was only purchased for €3m a year ago, yet his value in the transfer market has shot up, with an asking price of circa €15-20m.

The alternatives are named as Acerbi of Lazio and Manchester United defender Bailly.

When it comes to Bailly, he was purchased from Villarreal for €38m in 2016, but his value has plummeted due to making only seven competitive appearances for Manchester United last season.

  1. As a Juventus supporter I truly feel sorry for the Neapolitan faithful as this skinflint Delorentus is digging up 3rd tier players Min Jae Kim??? after losing solid blocks like Kouli and insigne … and old war horses that are well past their expiry date to fill in on defence, I mean how much can the faithful take watching this team get dismantled ….
