Sky Sport Italia, Adnkronos and Goal.com all suggest Roma are in negotiations, hoping to include Icardi as part of a massive exchange deal with Edin Dzeko, Aleksandar Kolarov and perhaps also Stephan El Shaarawy.
Now Napoli make their own attempt at coaxing Icardi to the Stadio San Paolo, which President Aurelio De Laurentiis hinted at in his interview with the Corriere dello Sport.
“Everyone knows the best strikers on the market and we remain vigilant like falcons ready to pounce on the best opportunities.
“We negotiated for Icardi three years ago, whereas now my collaborators tell me Inter want to dismantle our team and requested the best players we have. I, however, have no intention of selling them.”
De Laurentiis was asked if Inter wanted Piotr Zielinski or Insigne.
“Insigne is a player who could do well in any big European club, but for the moment he is at Napoli and we are happy about that. Our champions are not for sale, unless of course we find someone who we consider to be even better.”
It’s reported Zielinski has been taken off the table, especially if Allan is going to join Paris Saint-Germain, but Insigne could be open to joining Conte’s Inter in exchange for Icardi.
