Singer-songwriter Gigi D’Alessio has joked that his hometown club Napoli ‘need to buy a referee’ to win the Scudetto.
Refereeing controversy is never far away in Serie A, and that was the case at the weekend, with flashpoints in Juventus’ 2-1 win against Milan and Lazio’s 2-2 draw with Sassuolo.
“We need to buy a referee!” D’Alessio told RMC Sport when asked what his side needed to get closer to Juve.

“We need to buy a referee!” D’Alessio told RMC Sport when asked what his side needed to get closer to Juve.
“Napoli are inconsistent but, unlike Sarri, Ancelotti has let the whole squad play. The current Coach has done a good job, now Napoli are focused on the Europa League.
“It’s difficult to compete with Juve. I say it as a fan. For Napoli, when they manage to beat the Bianconeri, it’s like winning the World Cup.”
