Ambitious Napoli have reportedly joined Juventus in the chase to sign Milan's Andrea Pirlo this summer.

Pirlo may quit the San Siro outfit on a free transfer should he not renew his contract with the Rossoneri.

Juventus have publicly admitted that they would be interested in signing Pirlo on a Bosman this summer, but they seemingly have competition.

According to some sources in the peninsula, Napoli too are very keen on the 31-year-old Italian international.

Pirlo's agent Tulio Tinti is understood to have already had preliminary talks with Napoli sporting director Riccardo Bigon.

Nevertheless, it remains to be seen whether Napoli would be willing to pay the sort of salary that the 2006 World Cup player would demand.

Milan have numerous players whose contracts are set to expire in June, with the likes of Clarence Seedorf and Alessandro Nesta all potentially available for nothing at the end of the term.
