Napoli are the latest club to be associated with a bid for Barcelona benchwarmer Franck Kessie, after Inter and a return to Milan, where he’d replace Diego Demme.

The Ivory Coast international left Milan as a free agent last summer to join Barcelona, but has barely featured at Camp Nou.

According to Relevo and Spanish transfer expert Gerard Romero, Napoli have now shown an interest in Kessie.

The player has already been linked with a Serie A return for Inter or even more improbably his old club Milan, but seemingly wants to remain with the Blaugrana.

There are also stories suggesting Kessie could be of interest to several Premier League clubs and he has always confessed to being a Manchester United fan.

If Napoli were to seek out Kessie, it would mean the departure of one of their current midfielders, most likely Demme.

In fact, Demme’s agent Marco Busiello confirmed as much when speaking to Radio Kiss Kiss.

“We have not yet spoken officially with Napoli. Diego is very happy at Napoli and has no problems with the coach or his teammates, but obviously he wants more playing time.

“Between injuries and the choices of the coach, he practically hasn’t played in a year, so his priority is to go somewhere he can play regularly. We’ve had a few chats with clubs in Italy and abroad, but nothing concrete.”
