Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Napoli are working hard to agree a deal with Fenerbahce for Rennes target Min-Jae Kim.

The Partenopei are reportedly planning to make a decisive lunge today in an attempt to iron out an agreement for the 25-year-old Korean defender. They’ve faced strong competition from Ligue 1 side Rennes but they’re confident of closing out a deal now and are hoping that today’s meeting could be the decisive one.

Napoli are working on strengthening their defence following the departure of Kalidou Koulibaly to Chelsea last week and they’ve already picked up Leo Ostigard from Brighton. Kim will be the next addition to the backline and he’s expected to become a regular feature in Campania.

The 25-year-old Kim impressed in his debut season with Fenerbahce, individually impressing as he made 39 appearances across all competitions. A deal could cost Napoli upwards of around €20m, a sign of his potential and ability.

  1. Are you Napoli fans happy with this signing?, considering you sold KK for £40m euros, had money to spend more on a defender – would like to hear your views

  2. Not happy at all. We came close to winning the league a couple of times but now all hope is gone. Lucky if we make top 4 or 5 this season. Osimhen will leave too next season. Shame really.

  3. Almost impoosible to build a new stadium in Naples, selling to a new owner also unlikely, reasons too complicated to explain.
This team needed to change, as constituted they won nothing but got into CL. How can they take on top Northern teams and still financially be sound and make $$ for ADL. Give the management kudos for making changes and trying to remain competetive it had to be done. They have many young talented players who can be successful but need the experience and ambition to believe they can win as well as the confidence that they can defeat Juve, Milan, etc. Scudetto probably not but they will surprise the critics if they can remain healthy.

  4. Not happy with 4 to 5 critical players leaving. Koulibaly leaving was the biggest blow, as he’s been our true captain since hamsik (moreso than Insigne)

But this deal isn’t bad. Kim has potential. K2 in his first season was clumsy, then turned into the best CB around
