Napoli have reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Juventus’ Next Gen sporting director Giovanni Manna over an appointment as a director at the Stadio Maradona.

According to updates from Gianluca Di Marzio and Sky Sport Italia, Manna looks set to be appointed as sporting director at Napoli after talks with club President Aurelio De Laurentiis over the last few days.

It is understood that if he is to formally accept Napoli’s offer, Manna will oversee the club’s transfer business from this summer onwards.

Napoli are set to present Manna with a five-year contract, which will run until the summer of 2029.

Manna also reportedly has plans for the Napoli dugout and would like to work alongside current Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Italiano according to Wednesday’s updates.

Napoli and De Laurentiis have been left disappointed by the work of current sporting director Mauro Meluso, who was appointed after Cristian Giuntoli left for Juventus at the end of the Scudetto-winning 2022-23 campaign.

And, after a tough season, which has seen three different coaches in Rudi Garcia, Walter Mazzarri and Francesco Calzona, Napoli are prepared to make wholesale changes to its backroom staff ahead of the 2024-25 season.
