Radja Nainggolan reveals he took painkillers to be fit to face Lazio, and says Roma “talked about the Scudetto too much” in previous years.

The midfielder was forced to pull out of the Belgium squad with an injury, but played a starring role as the Giallorossi won the Derby della Capitale on Saturday evening.

“I’m a normal person, I had a small injury with Belgium but I always come back more quickly than I should,” Nainggolan explained to Sporza.

“I took some painkillers for the match against Lazio, I wanted to be there.

“I think I’m at 80-85 per cent of my capacity, I felt a bit of pain in Saturday’s game. There’s nothing I can do if I get injured, I would have liked to play against Mexico and Japan and I hope to take every little chance to show what I can do.”

Nainggolan was then asked if the Lupi can win the Scudetto this season.

“We’ve talked about it too much in the past, now we just have to take it one game at a time and then we’ll see.

“As for the Champions League, we want to qualify as soon as possible.”
