The centre-back completed a one-year loan move to the capital last week, and his ex-Isolani colleague has insisted that the 27-year-old can definitely make the leap in quality.
“For me, Davide is a truly great defender,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “I played with him for four and a half years and I know he can make the leap in quality.
“He’s a great player, so I’m glad he is part of this team and this project.”
The Belgium international then commented on their pre-season so far, and the signings they have made this summer.
“We are working really well with the Coach. It’s a little different, but it’s going really well.
“We’ve brought in some really interesting players who are all settling in well.
“I hope they can help us achieve something important. They are all technically good, so I’m sure they’ll contribute this season.”
